Years later, Lucas would travel to the Dominican Republic and see again that mysterious object from his childhood, and encountered a man that would support and guide him in the fascinating world of cigars. With this new mentor and friend, his passion, and time cigars would become his destiny.

In 1995, Lucas de Meester started his dream and his pursuit in the world of tobacco when he produced a small line of cigars from his house in the East of the Dominican Republic.

As founder of Don Lucas Cigars, with a successful recognition, Lucas endlessly seeks for perfection in each detail, and applies with great care the pledge of six generations of tobacconists who endorse the final product. The process involved in such an endeavor requires a highest degree of knowledge and respect for nature.

The tobacco cultures for Don Lucas cigars, originate from a single family property, they are developed with experience and the most demanding selection of seeds, and are harvested in one of the richest lands of navarrete  in the Dominican Republic, a land recognized for its nutrients thus creating a very high quality cigar made for connoisseurs, with respect to tradition.

With his passion, his craft and his sense of perfection, Don Lucas loves to tackle all aspects involved in making a product of superior caliber, placing a special emphasis in obtaining a consistent cigar, where quality matters more that quantity in the creation of his products.
